Dear Community Members:
Will You Join Me In Protecting Our Music Community?
I am sending this to you as a fellow member of the greater Eugene music community. I'm sure that you must value living in such a creative and musical neighborhood, just like I do.
According to a CBE Survey and the Music for All Foundation, funding for art and music programs have been cut by 33%. Our government seems to value war more than education. Local music businesses and musicians continue to close their doors for good and sell their instruments to survive. In order to keep our communities "creative and musical" we must take action - community action.
As you may know, a local Music Community Action Committee has been meeting over the past six months to try to find ways to reduce the cutbacks in the greater Eugene area. Last week they released their recommendations on how best to combat this problem. Their primary recommendation calls for increased in local and community support. Unfortunately, the National Endowment for the Arts cutbacks are not included in this year's municipal budget allocation and there are no known sources for additional funds available at this time.
As a concerned member of this community I have decided that my business will take the lead in assisting musicians and students to keep their creativity moving forward. Nomadic Sound Research will donate one free lesson for every $30 raised and will match 50% of any cash contributions!
I urge you to join me today in supporting this worthy cause for our common good. To make your donation today you can drop by our studios and deposit your donation in the boxes provided. Email us at musicfund@nomadicsoundresearch.com. Or, if you can't make it to the studios or email us please send a check or money order, made out to "Music Fund for Nomadic Sound Research" and mail it to one of the two addresses:
